This tool is designed to assist countries in (a) summarizing current data with regard to infant and young child feeding practices, (b) assessing the strengths and weaknesses of their policies and programmes to promote, protect and support optimal feeding practices, and (c)
determining where improvements may be needed to meet the aims and objectives of the Global Strategy for Infant and Young Child Feeding. Provides the tools to answer the question: Are appropriate policies and programmes in place to ensure that mothers, infants and children will be provided adequate protection and support for appropriate feeding during emergencies?
