This publication summarises the objectives and key provisions of 23 multilateral treaties related to the advancement of women's rights and the goal of gender equity, deposited with the UN Secretary-General. These include the Convention and protocol on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women; the Convention on the Rights of the Child; and other treaties relating to rights involving the use of children in armed conflict,; prostitution and pornography; consent and minimum age for marriage; migrant workers and people trafficking; socio-economic, civil and political rights.
